Deborah offers the following personal
invitation to the Vision Quest site.
August 20, 2006
Deborah's long-awaited fantasy/sci-fi novel,
Vision Quest can now be
pre-ordered at http://www.thevisionquest.com.

We've heard from Deborah Pratt (writer and
co-executive producer of QL) about two of her latest projects.
1) Deborah's long-awaited fantasy/sci-fi novel,
Vision Quest is finally on track for publication. The book will be
officially released on September 1, but in choosing a publisher she insisted
that the QL fandom should be the first to see it and the publisher has agreed to
begin filling those orders on August 1.
2) In addition to this, Deborah writes to us
"I have been location scouting for a month in Europe to direct Chevalier and
Antoinette, starring Academy Award nominee, Terrence Howard and Academy
Award winning producer, Mark Harris in 2007 for a 2008 release."
Our next issue of The Observer will
feature an interview with Deborah. In addition to asking her about the book,
we'll certainly cover this upcoming directorial project.
3) Deborah has asked us to pass along the
following information about one of her colleague's projects which just may
interest those who loved Quantum Leap.
Deborah writes:
"A close associate of mine did all the
marketing for "What the Bleep Do We Know?!", which you may have seen. Now,
they're working on the film that's been made of Dan Millman's classic
autobiographical novel, "Way of the Peaceful Warrior." It's a beautiful and
powerful production, with Nick Nolte as Socrates, and can easily inherit the
mantle of “Bleep.” It’s an inspiring and empowering experience and in the Q&A
some one asked if he were a Leaper.
They opened last weekend in Los Angeles, San
Francisco, Seattle, San Diego, Portland and Phoenix, and opening weekend box
office was good. Now, the way the movie industry works … new films only stay in
theaters where they do excellent business the first weekend and following
week. So it's critically important that our community get out there this
weekend if we want Hollywood to make more films like this.
You can see the trailer and find a theater in
your area at
http://www.thepeacefulwarriormovie.com.
On June 23rd, they'll be opening in
Denver/Boulder, Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Minneapolis, Tucson, Atlanta, and
Vancouver. And, July 14th on the East Coast.
Please pass this on and let me know what you
think.
Warm Regards,
Deborah M."
